Recueil d'antiquités égyptiennes, étrusques, greques et romaines
An antiquarian catalogue of Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek and Roman objects compiled by the comte de Caylus and issued in Paris from 1752 for collectors and scholars. Numbered engraved plates isolate bronzes, busts, lamps, gems and figurines against blank grounds in fine outline and hatching, giving designers clean cut-out artefacts, grotesque mask handles and intaglio scenes in oval frames.
