A seven-volume antiquarian catalogue of Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek and Roman objects compiled by the comte de Caylus and issued in Paris from 1752 for collectors and early archaeologists. Outline etchings isolate single artefacts on blank plates with Roman numerals: statuettes, bird- and animal-form bronzes, chains, columns, engraved gems, and relief fragments, useful as clean silhouettes and hatched line studies.
