Recueil de procédés et d'expériences sur les teintures solides : que nos végétaux indigênes communiquent aux laines & aux lainages
A French technical manual on fast dyes obtained from native plants for wool and woollens, compiled by the Rouen naturalist Louis-Alexandre Dambourney and printed in Paris by Philippe-Denis Pierres in 1786 for dyers, wool manufacturers and agricultural improvers. The pictures here are the book's printer's ornaments rather than plates: small relief-cut headpieces and tailpieces of fruit and flower sprays, rose-and-laurel swags on a ruled panel, crossed palm branches with a ribbon, and a crowned fleur-de-lys shield among oak and laurel, usable as rules, dividers and chapter openers.
