Recueïl de descriptions de peintures et d'autres ouvrages faits pour le Roy
André Félibien's collected descriptions of paintings, tapestries and other works made for Louis XIV, printed in Paris in 1689 by the widow of Sébastien Mabre-Cramoisy, the King's printer, for court readers and connoisseurs. The pictures shown here are small woodcut typographic ornaments — tailpieces of massed flowers, leaves and fruit, urns and baskets, a crowned bloom — usable as chapter breaks, borders, spot motifs or repeat-pattern source material.
