Christian Ludwig von Hagedorn's treatise on painting, translated from German by Michel Huber and printed by Gaspar Fritsch in Leipzig in 1775 for collectors, artists and connoisseurs of the arts. The engraved ornaments are rococo headpieces and tailpieces: flower swags laid over ruled bars, a putto drawing in a landscape framed by an oval laurel wreath, and winged figures with trumpet, scrolls and palette, useful as chapter dividers, cartouche frames and floral rules.
