Regal heraldry; the armorial insignia of the Kings and Queens of England, from coeval authorities

Willement, Thomas, 1786-1871 · 1821 · London, [n.p.] · 69 pictures

A heraldic reference compiled by Thomas Willement, an English glass painter and armorial antiquary, and issued in London in 1821 for antiquaries, herald painters and church restorers recording the arms of English kings and queens from contemporary sources. Hand-coloured engraved plates pair line drawings of carved and monumental shields with flat red, blue and yellow renderings of quartered arms, crowns, badge-strewn fields, leafy mantling and lion, greyhound and antelope supporters, giving designers clean vector-ready shapes and a limited heraldic palette.
