A Portuguese edition of Vignola's rules of the five architectural orders, translated and annotated by José Calheiros de Magalhães e Andrade and printed in 1787 at the Royal University Press in Coimbra for students, masons and building practitioners. The 125 copperplates give measured elevations, sections and plans of columns, arcades, entablatures and cornice profiles, ruled with module scales and lettered keys, and shaded in fine parallel hatching that can be lifted for diagram work, borders and architectural ornament.
