Rembrandt handzeichnungen
A 1919 Munich portfolio of Rembrandt's drawings, edited by art historian Carl Neumann for R. Piper & Co. and aimed at collectors and students of Dutch draughtsmanship. The 121 plates are reed-pen and wash sketches printed on toned grounds: figure groups, seated and gesturing men, biblical scenes, animals, blotted shadows and open unfinished space useful as gestural line and ink-texture source.
