Report on the building and ornamental stones of Canada
A Canadian government survey of building and ornamental stone, compiled by geologist William A. Parks for the Mines Branch in Ottawa in 1912 and aimed at quarry operators, builders, and engineers. Halftone field photographs show open quarry faces, blocks and rubble piles, derricks, workmen for scale, and timbered adits, offering rough rock textures, stepped bench geometry, and stark industrial silhouettes.
