Report on the building and ornamental stones of Canada
A Canadian government survey of building and ornamental stone, written by geologist William A. Parks and issued by the Mines Branch of the Department of Mines in Ottawa in 1912 for quarry operators, builders, and architects. The halftone plates are field photographs of quarry faces and outcrops: horizontally bedded limestone and sandstone ledges, jointed rock walls, rubble heaps, ladders and工 figures for scale, offering grey-toned stone textures, stratified banding, and fractured-surface patterns.
