Report upon a highway bridge
A 1901 engineering thesis on a highway bridge, handwritten and drawn by student John Rudolph Lotz for the University of Illinois. The plates are pen-and-ink truss diagrams annotated in black and red ink: triangulated web lines, member sizes, dimension arrows and stress figures, with cursive captions running above them — useful for line-and-annotation layouts and two-color technical marks.
