The Repository of arts, literature, commerce, manufactures, fashions and politics
Rudolph Ackermann's monthly miscellany of art, fashion, commerce and politics, issued in London from 1809 for a well-off British readership interested in dress, furnishing and the town. Plates run from hand-coloured aquatint views of London buildings and streets to fashion figures, furniture and interior designs, etched studies of working women, and repeating leaf-and-tendril border ornament printed as textile pattern samples — usable as period street scenes, costume silhouettes and ready-made decorative rules.
