The Repository of arts, literature, commerce, manufactures, fashions and politics
Rudolph Ackermann's monthly London miscellany of arts, literature, commerce and fashion, begun in 1809 and aimed at fashionable and trade readers in Regency Britain. Hand-coloured aquatint and engraved plates show full-length women's dresses with trimmed hems, bonnets and feathered headdresses, plus tinted views of villas and garden buildings; usable for period costume silhouettes, floral trim details and soft washed architectural backdrops.
