Rudolph Ackermann's monthly London magazine of art, fashion, manufactures and politics, begun in 1809 and aimed at fashionable and design-minded subscribers. The plates here are hand-coloured aquatint views of English country villas and seats set in parkland, small figures and carriages on the lawns, useful for pale wash skies, regular window grids, and silhouetted tree masses framing a building.
