The Repository of arts, literature, commerce, manufactures, fashions and politics
Rudolph Ackermann's monthly London magazine of art, design, fashion and commerce, begun in 1809 and aimed at middle-class readers and the furnishing and dressmaking trades. Hand-coloured aquatint plates show full-length figures in high-waisted Regency gowns with shawls and plumed headdresses, plus curtain and drapery schemes, side tables and cabinet furniture, useful for period costume silhouettes, soft colour palettes and ornamental interior details.
