Rudolph Ackermann's monthly London miscellany of art, manufactures, fashion and politics, begun 1809, issued to well-off British subscribers who wanted news of dress and decoration. The hand-coloured engravings show single women in high-waisted gowns, lace collars, turbans and shawls, seated or standing against blank grounds, with fine hatching for drapery and small studies of chairs, footstools and trim.
