The Repository of arts, literature, commerce, manufactures, fashions and politics
A monthly London miscellany issued by Rudolph Ackermann from 1809, mixing fashion plates, decorative-art designs, commercial notices and politics for well-off British readers with an interest in taste and shopping. The plates here are hand-coloured aquatint street views of Regency London—Piccadilly, terraces, shopfronts and public buildings—with small figures, carriages and sedan chairs staffing wide pale skies, useful for period architecture, costume silhouettes and soft aquatint colour palettes.
