The Repository of arts, literature, commerce, manufactures, fashions and politics
A London monthly miscellany issued by Rudolph Ackermann from 1809, mixing fashion, decorative art, commerce and politics for a genteel English readership. The plates are hand-coloured aquatints and engravings: single standing figures in high-waisted Regency gowns, bonnets and spencers against blank grounds, plus caricature-style interior scenes with crowds of figures, useful for costume silhouettes, embroidered hem borders and period colour palettes.
