The Repository of arts, literature, commerce, manufactures, fashions and politics
Rudolph Ackermann's Repository of Arts was a monthly London magazine begun in 1809, covering fashion, decorative arts, commerce and politics for well-off British readers. The plates here are hand-coloured engravings of single standing women in Regency dress, each shown full-length against blank ground, useful for empire-line silhouettes, plumed and ribboned headdresses, printed shawls, and borders of applied roses, flounces and gold banding.
