A collected volume of William Thomson (Lord Kelvin)'s scientific papers on electrostatics and magnetism, issued by Macmillan in London in 1884 for physicists and electrical engineers. The figures are fine-line engineer's diagrams of instruments — electroscopes, quadrant electrometers, jars and suspended plates — plus lettered part keys and field-line charts usable as technical ornament or schematic reference.
