Revue archéologique
A French archaeological journal published in Paris from 1844 onward, carrying excavation reports, epigraphic notes and antiquarian studies by academic contributors for scholars of classical and Gallo-Roman antiquity. The plates are line engravings and pen facsimiles: broken Latin inscription stones with lettering shown mid-fracture, incised drawings of arcaded buildings and animals on fragments, ring-shaped ornament diagrams, and thin site sections with hatched strata, useful as Roman capital alphabets, fragment outlines and technical linework.
