Rhythmic shape; a text-book of design
A design textbook by the English painter and writer Maxwell Armfield, published in Berkeley, California, in 1920 for art students learning the principles of pattern and composition. The plates are pen-and-ink diagrams and exercises: spiral line studies, scalloped roundels in a square, half-drop repeats of stylised birds and rosettes, and small framed sketches annotated with construction lines.
