A 1590 collection of emblems and verse by members of the Accademia dei Gelati in Bologna, engraved by Agostino Carracci and printed by Giovanni Rossi for the academy's learned members and patrons. Each plate sets a device — a grafted vine, a tree on rock, sun behind cloud, a pan-pipe organ flanked by satyrs — inside strapwork frames with motto banderoles and small coats of arms.
