A 1590 Bologna octavo of love verse by members of the Accademia dei Gelati, printed by Giovanni Rossi with engraved emblems attributed to Agostino Carracci, made for a learned literary circle. Each plate frames a member's device — a tree, a lightning-struck hill, clasped arms, a shepherd's crook between satyrs — in strapwork cartouches with motto banners and shields.
