Ritratti di alcuni celebri pittori del secolo XVII
A 1731 Roman folio of engraved portraits of celebrated seventeenth-century painters after the draughtsman Ottavio Leoni, with biographical texts by Giovanni Pietro Bellori, printed by Antonio de' Rossi at the expense of the bookseller Fausto Amidei for collectors and connoisseurs. Alongside the portrait heads are woodcut initials filled with grotesque faces, putti and birds, and engraved headpieces built from a central mask flanked by scaled dolphins, shells, foliage and drapery swags.
