A short German popular-science account of X-rays, skotography and "od" by Karl Georg Panesch, issued in Berlin, Leipzig and Neuwied in 1897 for general readers following the new discovery. The line engravings show pear-shaped vacuum tubes with electrodes, coiled lead wires and plus and minus signs, hatched glass bodies and ring stands, offering ready-made laboratory apparatus diagrams and wiring motifs.
