The rock tombs of El Amarna
An archaeological site report by Norman de Garis Davies recording the rock-cut tombs of El Amarna, published in London and Boston for the Egypt Exploration Fund from 1903 onward and aimed at Egyptologists and subscribers to the Fund. The plates are outline facsimile drawings of wall reliefs and inscriptions: columns of hieroglyphs, cartouches, offering scenes and the rayed Aten disc, with broken edges and hatched damage left visible, giving designers clean line art and ready-made script ornament.
