Roman cities in Italy and Dalmatia
An archaeological survey of Roman urban remains in Italy and the Dalmatian coast, written by Princeton archaeologist Arthur L. Frothingham and published in New York by Sturgis & Walton in 1910 for general and student readers. The 108 halftone photographs record gates, arches, amphitheatre walls and carved cornices in high-contrast grey, useful for masonry and brick textures, arch and pediment profiles, and acanthus scroll friezes seen close up.
