A 1910 American travel and architecture volume by Francis Miltoun, published by L. C. Page of Boston and illustrated in pen and ink by Blanche McManus, describing the châteaux, palaces and pleasure grounds of France for armchair travellers and tourists. The plates combine wide garden and courtyard views with small costumed figures, carriages and hand-lettered French captions, plus ribbon-and-shield cartouches; useful for line-drawn architectural elevations, formal parterre layouts and ready-made heraldic title devices.
