Répertoire de la statuaire grecque et romaine
A multi-volume reference catalogue of Greek and Roman sculpture compiled by archaeologist Salomon Reinach and published by Leroux in Paris from 1897 onward, made for archaeologists, museum curators and art students needing a compact visual census of known antique statues. The plates are small outline drawings in plain line, each figure isolated on blank ground: standing nudes, draped torsos, busts in helmets and Phrygian caps, broken limbs and stumps left as found, giving designers clean silhouettes and uniform line weight that reduce classical statuary to usable contour.
