R.P. Ioannis Francisci Niceronis Parisini, ex Ord. Minim. Thaumaturgus opticus, seu, Admiranda optices, per radium directum : catoptrices, per reflexum è politis corporibus ... : dioptrices, per refractum in diaphanis ... pars prima ..
A Latin treatise on optics, perspective, catoptrics and dioptrics by the Minim friar Jean François Nicéron, printed in Paris in 1646 by François Langlois with plates engraved by Karl Audran and Michel Lasne after Simon Vouet, addressed to mathematicians, painters and makers of perspective devices. The 77 engravings pair ruled construction diagrams — numbered grids, converging ray lines, ground planes and horizon lines — with lightly hatched solids such as cubes, pyramids and octahedra, plus scrolled ribbon cartouches holding plate numbers and occasional small standing figures; usable as line-based geometric ornament, measured scales and banner labels.
