The rug and carpet industry of Philadelphia:
A 1917 trade survey of Philadelphia's rug and carpet mills, compiled by Philip A. Hall for the Chamber of Commerce's educational committee to explain local manufacturing to students and businessmen. Halftone photographs show Jacquard and broad looms, creels of bobbins, belt-driven shafting and workers on mill floors, plus carpet pattern swatches useful as period textile motifs and industrial interiors.
