A multi-volume archaeological survey of Russian antiquities compiled by Count Ivan Tolstoi and Nikodim Kondakov, published in St. Petersburg by A. Benke from 1889 for scholars of art and ornament. Halftones and line engravings record metalwork close up: cast openwork discs, granulated crescent pendants, filigree medallions and chain-hung drops, useful for interlace motifs, beaded borders and radial ornament.
