The Philosophical magazine; a journal of theoretical, experimental and applied physics

1798 · London Taylor & Francis (etc.) · 1 picture

A long-running London scientific journal, begun in 1798 and later published by Taylor & Francis, carrying papers in theoretical, experimental and applied physics for natural philosophers, instrument makers and academic readers. The plates are precise engraved line work on plain grounds, including a facsimile of a cuneiform inscription ruled into six vertical columns, offering dense wedge-shaped glyph grids, ruled column dividers and hand-copied antiquarian script for use as pattern, texture or lettering reference.
