The Philosophical magazine; a journal of theoretical, experimental and applied physics
A London scientific periodical, the Philosophical Magazine, begun in 1798 and issued by Taylor & Francis for practitioners and readers of theoretical, experimental and applied physics. Its plates are engraved apparatus diagrams, lightly tinted and labelled Fig. 1, Fig. 2, showing cylinders, graduated thermometer tubes, bulb-and-stem vessels and stopcocks against blank ground, useful as instrument silhouettes and figure-numbered technical line work.
