A French mathematical review journal issued from 1870 by Gauthier-Villars in Paris under the Ministère de l'éducation nationale, carrying abstracts and notices on mathematics and astronomy for academic readers. The plates are spare line diagrams and typeset formulas: lettered rhombi and triangles on axes, dashed construction lines, a hatched disc inside a sphere on a rotation axis, and summation expressions in period type.
