A German edition of the comte de Caylus's antiquarian catalogue of Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek and Roman objects, issued in Nuremberg by Adam Wolfgang Winterschmidt in 1766 for collectors and scholars of classical antiquities. The numbered copperplates isolate heads, statuettes, engraved gems, bronze jugs and rings against blank paper with scale bars and oval frames, giving designers cut-out artefact silhouettes, profile portrait heads and small framed figure groups.
