A 1904 trade catalogue issued by the Sanitary Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia to show retail buyers its rugs, art squares, lace curtains and upholstery fabrics. The plates are numbered colour views of whole rugs, printed in reds, golds, indigo and green, with medallions, palmettes, boteh rows and layered borders that can be lifted as repeating pattern fields, frame bands or period colour palettes.
