The school of the heart, or, The heart (of itself gone away from God) brought back again to Him, and instructed by Him : in forty-seven emblems
An English emblem book of forty-seven verse meditations on the soul's heart, adapted by Christopher Harvey from Benedictus van Haeften's Schola cordis and reprinted in London by Alexander Hogg in 1778 for devotional readers. Small copperplate emblems set a winged haloed child and a veiled female soul in open landscapes, each framed by rococo scrollwork usable as vignettes, borders, or symbol motifs.
