The school printshop
A 1919 manual by Katharine Marian Stilwell, published by Rand, McNally in Chicago and New York, teaching printing and page composition to schoolchildren and their teachers. Illustrations pair student-made brush and pen designs — black-mass tree silhouettes, looping poppy and animal borders — with diagrams of blank numbered rectangles showing imposition and margin schemes, useful as layout templates and simple ornament stock.
