Schools and masters of paintings : with an appendix on the principal galleries of Europe
A survey of European painting schools and their masters, written by Alida Graveraet Radcliffe and published by D. Appleton in New York in 1888 for general readers and gallery visitors. The plates are wood-engraved copies of Renaissance altarpieces and devotional panels, giving arched compositions, enthroned Madonnas on clouds, ranks of standing saints, and cherub heads usable as framing and figure motifs.
