Schutzschrift für die Aechtheit der Rosenkreutzergesellschaft
A German defense of Rosicrucian authenticity, adapting Robert Fludd's seventeenth-century apologia in a 1782 Leipzig edition prepared by the alchemical writer Adam Michael Birkholz for readers of esoteric and hermetic literature. Woodcut rococo headpieces and tailpieces of scrolling acanthus, shells and flower baskets sit alongside ruled astrological diagrams with planetary sigils and degree figures, giving designers reusable ornament stock and occult chart geometry.
