Schwedische kunst des 19. Jahrhunderts
A German-language survey of nineteenth-century Swedish painting, sculpture and architecture, written by the Stockholm critic Georg Nordensvan and published by E. A. Seemann in Leipzig in 1904 for art students and collectors abroad. The plates are coarse-screen halftones of paintings and buildings: figures in near-silhouette on shorelines at dusk, flat lake and meadow landscapes with scattered trees, harbour and fishing scenes, and frontal views of public buildings — useful for soft grey tonal fields, low horizons and grouped dark figures.
