Scientific American, Vol. 14, No. 36 (May 1859)

1859 · 15 pictures

A weekly issue of Scientific American from May 1859, published in New York by Munn & Co. for inventors, patent agents and working mechanics, carrying patent claims, machinery notices and correspondence. The pictures here are printers' ornaments rather than machine diagrams: cast foliate corner pieces with curling acanthus scrolls and leaf tips, set against rules and blackletter or small-capital headings, useful as page corners, frame fragments and masthead furniture.
