Scientific American, Vol. 6, No. 10 (March 1862)

1862 · 9 pictures

A weekly American trade and patent journal, published by Munn & Co. in New York in March 1862 for inventors, mechanics and manufacturers. Wood-engraved figures show patented devices in three-quarter view with letter keys and cutaways — a folding plough frame, a laced riding boot, a kerosene lamp with filler, a twisted rope-and-fibre end — usable as line-shaded object studies and labelled mechanical diagrams.
