Scientific American, Vol. 19, No. 24 (December 1868)

1868 · 10 pictures

A weekly American technical and patent journal, Scientific American, issued in New York in December 1868 for inventors, manufacturers, and mechanics. The wood engravings are small numbered figures on dark stippled grounds: turned spindles, flywheels and bearings, sectional views with hatched cutaways, coiled tubing and wire loops, useful as isolated machine parts, cross-section motifs, and engraved shading textures.
