Scientific American, Vol. 34, No. 17 (April 1876)

1876 · 16 pictures

A single April 1876 issue of Scientific American, the weekly patent and invention journal published by Munn & Co. in New York for inventors, manufacturers, and mechanically minded general readers. The plates are wood engravings of patented machines and apparatus — a boiler with riveted plates, a steam pile driver, a grain or ore cleaner shown in cutaway — drawn in hatched line with lettered part keys and "Fig." captions, useful as isolated machine silhouettes, texture fills, or technical diagram fragments.
