The scientific papers of Sir William Huggins
Collected scientific papers of the English astronomer William Huggins, edited with Lady Huggins and published in London by William Wesley and Son in 1909 for astronomers and spectroscopists. The plates are photographic spectra: black bands crossed by white emission lines and dark absorption gaps, set against numbered wavelength scales and rulers, offering measured tick calibrations, striped bar arrangements and high-contrast line patterns.
