Scottish gardens; being a representative selection of different types, old and new
A survey of Scottish gardens written by Sir Herbert Maxwell and published by Edward Arnold in London in 1908, with colour plates by the Edinburgh watercolourist Mary G. W. Wilson, aimed at garden owners and horticultural readers. The plates are loose, high-key watercolours of herbaceous borders, clipped yews, balustraded terraces and walled paths, useful for soft floral colour fields and pastel garden backgrounds.
