Scottish gardens; being a representative selection of different types, old and new
A 1908 survey of Scottish gardens written by Sir Herbert Maxwell and illustrated by Mary G. W. Wilson, published by Longmans, Green in New York and London for garden owners and horticultural readers. The plates are colour reproductions of watercolours showing herbaceous borders, clipped hedges, stone terraces and balustrades, pergola walks and grass paths, useful for soft massed-flower colour, garden architecture and receding-path compositions.
